Modifying Purging Parameters

Purging of data ensures that your EEE database only contains the data you require, by purging specified tables after a defined period of time. By default, the majority of purging tables are not set to auto purge, and you would use this screen to turn on purging for the tables you require to be purged.

The screen below is an example of the Purge Parameters screen, with a number of tables already set to auto purge.

To make a change to the purge settings, follow this procedure:-

  • Highlight the table you wish to change. An additional box will appear at the bottom of the screen to allow you to make changes to the highlighted table. In the example below, the PriceChange table has been selected.

To change the retention period for data in this table, change the “Purge data older than (days)” option to a different number of days. In the example above, data will be purged from this table when it is older than 365 days.

  • The “automatically purge this table” option must be ticked for the table to be auto purged.
  • If you have made any changes, click on the SAVE button to save the changes.

Purge Log

The Purge Log screen shows what purging has occurred for a specified date range. In addition to the date range, you can also select a table name, to only see purging for a specific table. The example below shows the purge log for 1 day for all tables being purged. If you place the mouse pointer on the SQL statement, you will see the full SQL statement that was executed against this table.
