Duplicate Server Error
With the introduction of Enabler internal comms which added the ability of moving files to/from HO without the use of batch files or FTP scripts, also came the possibility of an incorrectly configured Enabler machine being added to the network and potentially picking up files destined for a different branch.
Enabler now guards against this by creating a file called workstation.dat in the stores export folder on the HO server. This file contains the machine name of the store server, and is checked when Enabler starts on the store server.
If the machine name of the Enabler machine is different than the name recorded in workstation.dat, a message will be displayed on the screen:-
Another machine has been detected on the network operating as a store server. Nibbler will not run under these conditions.
Existing server name:MachineName
If you genuinely need to change the name of an Enabler store server, apart from changing the Enabler configurations for the tills attached to the store server, you will need to delete the workstation.dat file found in the stores export folder.
