When installing Enabler on Windows Vista or Windows 7, the UAC enhanced security often block access to the Windows Registry.
In order to avoid issues during and after installation, it is recommended that Enabler Setup is run as administrator.
Right Click Setup.exe --> select 'Run As Administrator' --> provide administrator user credentials if required.
Setup will proceed with the installation and will write the correct registry entries for the BDE engine into the Windows Registry.
When setup is complete, it is recommended that Back Office is Run As Administrator to allow it to update registry settings when importing Till Configurations.
Once configs are imported/configured, Nibbler should then also be Run As Administrator to ensure all registry settings are updated.
After this first startup as administrator, all Enabler apps can then run as standard users.
If Nibbler is not Run As Administrator, a database error may occur indicating invalid options relating to MAXFILEHANDLES.
NOTE: If any registry related settings require changing at a later date, Back Office should be run as administrator at that point to allow the changes to be applied.
These settings include all options on the BDE Settings tab under Database Setup.
