In certain cirumstances, you may receive the message
Service Unavailable
when attempting to run EEE.
The following errors may also appear in the Windows logs.
A failure was encountered while launching the process serving application pool 'EEEAppPool'. The application pool has been disabled.
The identity of application pool 'EEEAppPool' is invalid, so the World Wide Web Publishing Service can not create a worker process to serve the application pool. Therefore, the application pool has been disabled.
While there can be many causes of this error, below are some more common reasons why this may occur.
- The account used to run EEE (usually EEEServices) is not a member of the group IIS_WPG.
- The account used to run EEE doesn't have the “Log on as a service” right. This will also prevent EEE Data Loader and EEE Query Server from running.
