Stocktake issues using EEE Integrated Inventory

Stocktake Menu Items Greyed out


In Enabler versions prior to 4.46, when certain actions were taken from the Stocktake menu in POS, menu items would then be greyed out. For example, when there has been no stocktake freeze performed, most other items on the stocktake menu are greyed out.


Sometimes the stocktake status in EEE and Enabler can get out of synch. This can result in the user being unable to post or reset a stocktake or freeze a stocktake, or access other selections on the stocktake menu. For example if Enabler believes there are no open stocktakes, but in EEE there is an open stocktake, the user will not be able to reset this stocktake as the Reset Stocktake sub menu option will be disabled.


If a stocktake freeze has been performed, but items such as reset stocktake, manual stock count entry are still greyed out preventing an action on the stocktake, the following procedure should be followed.


  • Close POS
  • Edit winsuite.ini which will be found in the Enabler folder
  • Search for the word Frozen
  • You will find a line that says Frozen=0. Change this to Frozen=1
  • Save the changes
  • Re-start POS
  • From the stocktake menu, reset the stocktake
  • From the stocktake menu, freeze the stocktake again

The stocktake status should now be correct and the required items on the stocktake menu should be available.


This problem only occurs on Enabler versions prior to 4.46.
