Enabler and EEPOS require a licence key to operate. Licence keys expire from time to time, usually after 12 months. When POS detects that it is within one month of its licence expiration date, POS can automatically relicense itself via the Magenta licensing server.

Configuration

Some simple configuration is required. You must enter:

  1. Magenta's relicensing server address: http://licensing.magentaretail.com.au/magentawebservice/magentawebservice.asmx
  2. Your user code issued by Magenta
  3. Your licensing password issued by Magenta
  4. Text that will display to your store operators should auto-relicensing be unsuccessful

Network Requirements

Relicensing requires that each POS terminal has port 80 access to the Magenta licensing server. To check if your POS machines have appropriate network access, open a browser on the POS machine and try to navigate to http://licensing.magentaretail.com.au/magentawebservice/magentawebservice.asmx. If this succeeds then the basic network requirements are met. If this fails the cause of the failure will need to be identified and resolved before POS will be able to automatically renew its licence.

Trouble Shooting

If POS is failing to renew its licence and the network test above is successful, check the POS event log at the time the POS relicensing message was displayed for a record indicating the reason for the relicensing failure.
